In the new movie, seniors Troy (Zac) and Gabriella (Vanessa) face the prospect of being separated from one another as they head off in different directions to college. Joined by the rest of the Wildcats, they stage an elaborate spring musical reflecting their experiences, hopes and fears about their future. With incredible new music and exciting dance numbers designed to take maximum advantage of the big screen, the third movie in the phenomenally popular series promises to deliver plenty of high-energy entertainment from East High’s talented ensemble.

Reminisce how the story all began for East High Wildcats star player Troy Bolton (Zac Efron) and math wiz Gabriella Montez (Vanessa Hudgens) in the first installment of “High School Musical.”
Troy Bolton (Zac Efron) is best known as the team captain and star player who keeps the East High basketball team on the scoreboard while brainy Gabriella Montez (Vanessa Anne Hudgens) is raising the reputation of East High as the key member of the school’s successful academic team.
No one would ever peg them as theater types so when word gets out that this popular pair has secretly chosen to reach for the stars and try their luck on the stage, the students are about to learn an important lesson in teamwork while gearing up for a musical performance that will have their audience dancing in the aisles.
Meanwhile, the fun, love, excitement, and the music continue on “High School Musical 2″ as the whole gang goes through a summer experience they will never forget. Troy will have to choose between his future (through a scholarship) and his one true love.
“High School Musical” airs May 24 (Saturday), 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.and “High School Musical 2″ airs May 25 (Sunday), 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Studio 23, before “Us Girls,” which airs at a special time to give way to the special.

While the first two High School Musical movies were both huge successes for Disney, neither film was screened theatrically.
That’s all going to change when Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Corbin Bleu, and the rest of the gang hit the big screen in High School Musical 3: Senior Year this October.
It looks like in HSM3, the characters will mature and have to face some harder decisions than in the previous ones.
“You see the characters grow up a lot more so than ever before,” explained Vanessa Hudgens in an interview with ABC News. ”You know, you have college, you have your relationships, and just trying to figure out which path to take is tough.”
“Troy usually has a pretty big decision to make in every film. And in this movie, you see Troy struggling with these decisions … whether to, you know, pursue basketball or pursue theater. And it’s a pretty big one for him. It’s pretty cool,” said co-star Zac Efron.
Efron admitted that he arrived at rehearsals late and had to pay for it the hard way.
“It was tough catching up with everybody,” he admitted. “Vanessa’s tough to keep up with, man!”
”I’m still hurting. We’re all kind of limping around,” Hudgens added.

Vanessa Hudgens still owes $150,000 to her attorney, according to the lawsuit. Hudgens says she was only 16 when she signed the interim agreement, so she feels it will not hold up in court.
Hudgens has paid some but not all of the money owed to Brian Schall, the attorney who filed the lawsuit alleges, he helped the actress earn more than $5 million by advancing her funds for her songwriting and recording career.
Evan N. Spiegel, Hudgens’ attorney, says California’s Family Code that a contract with a minor is voidable and may be disaffirmed before the age of 18 or within a reasonable time afterward.
Vanessa was a minor when the formal contract was signed in October 2005, and Hudgens officially disaffirmed the contract on October 9, according to court documents. A copy of a two-paragraph letter from Hudgens to Schall nullifying their agreement is attached to her court papers, as is a copy of her birth certificate, which states that she was born December 14, 1988.
The court papers also say the mutual agreement was with the law offices of Schall, not with Schall himself. The timing of the lawsuit is also in question as Schall filed it within days after the nude pictures of Vanessa were discovered on the Internet.
